Ladies America & The US Chamber of Commerce Center for Women in Business

Women Leading the Future is a day-long conference being held May 5th at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C.  The Conference will be packed with dynamic speakers and panels of leading women (and some men) in business, government, healthcare, journalism, law, finance, technology and more.  Last year, Ladies America partnered with the United Nations Foundation to host this conference.  This year, we are honored to have the United States Chamber of Commerce’s Center for Women in Business as our partner.

About the WLF Conference’s Host Organizations 

Ladies America & Ladies DC

Ladies America developed from the incredible success of our Founding Chapter, Ladies DC, and is the premier national network of young, professional women in such places as Washington, D.C., New York, Texas, North Carolina, and California. Following the motto “Women Helping Women”, Ladies America members are connected to one another and their community through information sharing and monthly events, such as networking functions, brunches, speaker events, charity fundraisers, summits, panels, and more, with a focus on helping women advance personally and professionally.

 Ladies DC (LDC) is a members-driven organization, with well over 1,700 members in the Washington, DC area. Originally founded in 2006, LDC has created a strong network of savvy, professional women in all career fields and stages in life.  LDC provides wonderful networking opportunities and an environment in which mentorship . The goal of LDC is to attract extraordinary women who have a real desire to succeed and also be part of a community while here in the nation’s capital.

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Women in Business

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Center for Women in Business (CWB) works to increase the number of women on corporate boards and in the C-suite; mentors women in all stages of their careers; and, is building a productive network of women entrepreneurs for peer-to-peer education and information.

CWB has three primary objectives:

  • Highlight the growing impact of women entrepreneurs, and explore the challenges they face
  • Understand career development challenges for women in larger companies
  • Provide learning and mentoring opportunities for women in their careers

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business organization representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions. Our members range from mom-and-pop shops and local chambers to leading industry associations and large corporations. WLF Conference Founders

Lindsey Mask is the Founder and CEO of Ladies America, and also one of the Co-Founders of the Women Leading the Future Conference.  Lindsey is a Principal at Global Vision Communications (GVC), a strategic public relations firm for the business leader, specializing in integrated communications and implementation for associations & corporations.  Prior to joining GVC, Mask served as Communications Director for U.S. Congressman Howard P. “Buck” McKeon of California, where she handled national and local media and served as a spokesperson for the Congressman. A Texas native, Mask began her career as a news anchor/ reporter at an ABC affiliate in Michigan and later returned to Texas to get involved in politics. Mask holds a Bachelor of Arts (double major) in Mass Communication and Speech Communication from Texas State University - San Marcos. 

Lindsey is involved in multiple charities and sits on a variety of boards, with a primary focus on the advancement of women. She sits on the board for the Women Under Forty Political Action Committee (WUFPAC), aimed at helping women under forty secure seats in federal office. She has spent years mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters and each semester mentors a college student through The Fund for American Studies. She lectures regularly on media and communications for the Leadership Institute, Women in Public Policy’s WeLEAD program at American University, and the Women Congressional Staff Association. She also recently teamed up with a group of entrepreneurs to co-host and sponsor the first ever DC Entrepreneurship Week (DCEW) in 2010.

Mask has been featured in National Journal, Power Women Magazine, WUSA9, NBC Nightside, The Scene Bisnow, Revamp.com, The Broad Perspective (radio), Enchanting Women, Networking News, HerExchange, and iCosmeticNetwork.com.

 WLF Conference Co-Chairs

Julie Lombard is an active member of the Ladies DC Board of Directors and a Co-Chair of the Women Leading the Future Conference. Julie is also the Assistant Director of Development, Events, at Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater, a DC-landmark and national theater center which re- opened in October 2010, after two years of expansive renovation. Her extensive experience in the event planning field includes planning executive conferences at Harvard Business School, conducting film screenings through Allied Integrated Marketing, and planning benefits, galas, award ceremonies and movie premieres during her time as a senior consultant at Lansdale Associates. Through her current position at Arena Stage, Julie handles all internal benefits, galas, and cultivation and stewardship events. In addition to her day-job, she remains involved with organizations around the city, including taking on the Event Coordinator position for the 5th Annual GI Film Festival. The Film Festival will also take place at the Navy Memorial Heritage Center from May 9-15. Hailing from Concord, Massachusetts, Julie came to Washington, D.C. to attend American University and the Kogod School of Business. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Marketing specialization from AU.
